Active Partners et al. in £4m round for WhoCanFixMyCar.com
Active Partners has backed UK-based online car repair marketplace WhoCanFixMyCar.com in a £4m funding round.
Shell Ventures and Venrex Investment Management also took part in the investment alongside entrepreneur and company chair Sir Trevor Chinn.
Shell Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of energy company Shell, invested in the business following the development of its Shell Helix Service Specialist Network, a recently launched scheme that allows independent workshops on the WhoCanFixMyCar.com site to be officially associated with Shell.
WhoCanFixMyCar.com will use the fresh capital to consolidate its position in the UK, expand its product offering and scale up its activities.
According to the company, garages on WhoCanFixMyCar.com have seen an increase in business since joining the platform, with single-site garages obtaining around 600 new customers per year through the site, and top regional groups securing 3,000-4,000 bookings per year.
Previous funding
After an initial angel round in 2013, the company received an investment from Active Partners in 2015.
