
VC firms invest £2.4m in BioBeats
A consortium of VC firms has invested £2.4m in London-based wellbeing device and application developer BioBeats.
IQ Capital, Oxford Sciences Innovation and White Cloud Capital led the round. The company had previously received investment from actor and rapper Will Smith and author Deepak Chopra.
The fresh capital will be used to roll out the company's product to a global audience.
Previous funding
A consortium of business angels including Will Smith led a seed round for BioBeats in 2013.
Axa Ventures, IQ and White Cloud joined the syndicate in 2014, providing a further $2m of funding.

BioBeats was founded in 2012 and is headquartered in London. It develops wearable sensors that collect biometric data for health and wellbeing applications on a mobile device. The company uses the accrued data to recommend personalised stress and productivity management tools based on clinically proven coaching techniques.
