
Highland invests £20m in powdered food maker Huel
Highland has invested ТЃ20m in Huel, a producer of powdered food and bars.
Huel, whose goal is to produce convenient, affordable and sustainable food, will use the capital to launch new products and further its global expansion. Its main target market is people who deem themselves time-poor but are looking for a sustainable and healthy meals.
Highland is currently investing its third fund, Highland Europe Technology Growth III, which closed in June on €463m. It said Huel's mission, brand and innovative products made it a textbook example of the next generation of e-commerce businesses.
Company
Established in the UK in 2015, Huel creates powdered meals that contain at least 100% of the EU's daily recommended amounts of all 26 essential vitamins and minerals. It also produces granola and bars. It employs 65 people in the UK, US and Germany.
