LSP leads €28m series-B for Atlantic Therapeutics
Life Sciences Partners (LSP) has led a €28m series-B round for Atlantic Therapeutics, an Irish developer of garments designed for pelvic floor muscle strengthening.
Andera Partners, Atlantic Bridge Ventures, Seroba Life Sciences and Earlybird Venture Capital also took part in the funding round.
LSP drew capital from its €280m vehicle LSP Health Economics Fund 2, while Andera called down capital from BioDiscovery V and Atlantic Bridge invested from China-Ireland Technology Growth Fund II.
The fresh capital will enable Atlantic Therapeutics to launch its product in the US, undertake marketing activities, and expand both its range of products and clinical applications.
Previous funding
Seroba and Earlybird led a €15m series-A funding round for Atlantic Therapeutics in 2017, with Silicon Valley Bank providing a debt package to support the deal.
Company
Headquartered in Galway and founded in 2013 as a spinout from the Bio-Medical Research Group, Atlantic Therapeutics develops garments that incorporate devices for pelvic floor muscle strengthening. The product uses nerve stimulation to strengthen the muscle and treat the cause of bladder leaks.
