Bowmark's Aston Lark bolts on Robertson Low
Bowmark Capital portfolio company Aston Lark Group has acquired Irish insurance brokerage Robertson Low.
The transaction is the seventh bolt-on made by the group and comes 16 months after the GP supported the merger of Aston Scott Group (then already a portfolio company) with Lark Group.
In a statement, Aston Lark said Robertson Low will be well positioned to support the handling of existing international business, if required to do so by the outcome of Brexit negotiations.
Previous funding
Bowmark supported the management buyout of Aston Scott Group in 2015, following which the company's founder, Andrew Scott, retained a significant holding in the business.
Two years later, a new holding company was established to acquire the entire share capital of Lark Group and Aston Scott, with the consolidated group subsequently rebranding as Aston Lark.
Company
Founded in 1995, Dublin-headquartered Robertson Low is an insurance brokerage catering for both commercial and personal insurance lines. The business has a headcount of 40, including staff at its additional offices in Portlaoise, Ireland, and London, UK.
