
VCs back Aire in $11m funding round
A consortium of VCs including Crane Venture Partners has invested $11m in a series-B funding round for Aire, a UK-based credit scoring startup.
Crane Venture Partners was joined by existing investors White Star Capital and Sunstone Capital. Experian Ventures and Orange Digital Ventures also made strategic investments in the round.
The fresh capital will be used to support growth and an expansion into the US market.
Previous funding
Aire raised a total of $1.4m in two seed funding rounds in 2014 and 2015 from investors including Isomer Capital. White Star Capital then led two venture rounds in 2016 for a total of $5.6m.
Sunstone Capital led a series-A round in 2017 for $5m.
Company
Founded in 2014, Aire generates credit scores by using artificial intelligence and provides the information to lenders and borrowers. It mainly helps banks to understand the credibility of first-time borrowers, the self-employed and freelancers. The firm is based in London.
