Livingbridge-backed Carousel bolts on BDA
Livingbridge-backed Carousel has acquired UK-based logistics specialist BDA Logistics Innovation (BDA).
BDA will be integrated and rebranded as Carousel to reflect its position within the wider group of companies. Kevin Turner will remain as managing director of the air-bridge division, while BDA's operations, locations and account management teams will remain unchanged.
With this deal, the GP expects to strengthen Carousel's market position across Europe and add extended transport lanes to the existing air and road network, as well as next-day parcel and pallet options and personalised warehousing services.
The combined group will offer clients a wider service portfolio and, through dedicated air-bridges, an extended network servicing the Netherlands, Ireland and the UK. The acquisition is expected to increase Carousel's revenues by more than 50%.
Livingbridge invested in Carousel via its Growth I fund in October 2013. It acquired an undisclosed stake in the company in a replacement capital deal.
Company
Founded in 2007 and based in Birmingham, BDA is a logistics specialist that provides next-day and same-day delivery from Germany, France and the Benelux region to the UK and Ireland with its fleet of freight-only aircraft.
