Concentric leads $15m series-B round for Wheely
Venture capital house Concentric has led a $15m series-B funding round for UK-headquartered ride-hailing company Wheely.
Angel investors Oleg Tscheltzoff and Misha Sokolov also took part in the funding round, alongside other undisclosed investors.
The fresh capital will support Wheely's plans to roll out its service across further cities, with a launch in Paris planned during 2019.
Concentric is currently investing from its first fund, which was launched in July 2016 and primarily raised commitments from family offices.
Company
Founded in 2010, London-headquartered Wheely is a ride-hailing platform for chauffeur-driven executive cars. As with many other ride-hailing platforms, it operates through third-party freelancers and companies, rather than employing its own drivers, and takes a 20% commission on resulting fares. The company currently operates in London, Moscow and St Petersburg.
