Index Ventures leads $4m series-A for legal platform SeedLegals
Index Ventures has led a $4m series-A funding round for UK-based SeedLegals, a legal platform for startups.
Kima Ventures, The Family and previous backer Seedcamp also took part in the investment.
The company plans to use the fresh funding to boost its growth and expand its model to other areas of business, helping startups retain legal budget for strategic work.
Previous funding
SeedLegals raised £1m in seed funding in July 2017 from Seedcamp and several business angels.
Company
Established in 2017 and based in London, SeedLegals is a legal platform for startups that is able to manage the entire fundraising process and all related legal documents. The platform helps companies build and negotiate term sheets, shareholder agreements, cap tables, stock option allocations, EIS approvals and hiring contracts.
SeedLegal has also recently developed two new products: SeedFAST and Instant Investment, which enable startups to quickly top up investment between funding rounds. The platform is used by 7,000 UK companies and employs 25 staff.
