Exponent-backed Dennis Publishing bolts on Car Throttle
Exponent Private Equity-backed Dennis Publishing has acquired UK-based social media publishing company Car Throttle.
The transaction comes a year after the GP acquired Dennis from the estate of its founder, Felix Dennis.
The deal is intended to enhance the group's online presence in the automotive publishing space. Dennis currently owns titles including Auto Express, Evo and Carbuyer.
Exponent is invested in the group via its fourth fund, which was launched in 2017 with a £1.5bn target.

Founded in 2009, London-headquartered Car Throttle is an online network and social-media-focused publisher of automotive news and reviews. The business operates channels and pages on YouTube, Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram. It also provides branded marketing content, develops its own-brand apps and has an online store that sells car parts and merchandise.
Car Throttle's marketing clients include Red Bull, Mercedes-Benz, Michelin, McLaren and Shell. The company has an additional office in New York.
