Maven leads £4m round for Relative Insight
Maven Capital Partners has led a £4m funding round for language analytics specialist Relative Insight.
Maven drew equity from its VCTs for the deal. British Business Bank's Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund, which closed on £400m in 2017, also participated in the round.
The fresh capital will be used to expand into the US and develop the company's proprietary technology. The company is planning to open an office in New York to support its clients in the US.
Previous funding
In 2015, Mercia Fund Managers led a funding round for Relative Insight of an undisclosed amount, with participation from Force Over Mass Capital.
Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund made its first investment in Relative Insight in 2017. Later that year, Northern Stars also made an undisclosed investment.
Company
Relative Insight's linguistic analysis platform allows companies to analyse language data assets, such as surveys, reviews, CRM and social media. Founded in 2012 and based in London, the company also operates a development centre in Lancaster.
