True Venture leads $13m series-A for Wefarm
US-based VC True Ventures has led a $13m series-A funding round for agricultural sourcing network Wefarm.
AgFunder and June Fund, as well as existing investors LocalGlobe, Accelerated Digital Ventures (ADV) and the Norrsken Foundation, also participated.
The company's marketplace launched in March 2019 and has since reached a turnover of $1m.
The fresh capital will be used to diversify into supporting farmers across financing, delivery and trading.
Previous funding
In 2016, LocalGlobe led a £1.4m seed funding for WeFarm along with ADV.
True Ventures led a $5m round in March 2018, with participation from LocalGlobe, ADV, the Norrsken Foundation and private investors.

The company enables small-scale farmers, many of whom live in remote areas without access to the internet, to communicate. Its marketplace allows farmers to access agricultural products and services.
