
VCs in £7m round for Perlego
Venture capital investors have backed a £7m funding round for online textbook subscription company Perlego.
Investors in the round included Dedicated VC, Charlie Songhurst (a founding partner of Katana Capital), and Thomas Leysen, as well as existing backers Accelerated Digital Ventures, Simon Franks and Alex Chesterman.
The capital will go towards developing Perlego's platform and content libraries in non-English languages to facilitate its expansion into European markets.
Previous funding
Rooks Nest Ventures and Redbus Group, as well as angel investors, invested £500,000 in a seed round for the company in 2016.
Private investors contributed another £400,000 in equity in 2017.
ADV led a $4.8m round in 2018, with participation from Founders Factory and other private investors.

Perlego offers access to online textbooks for a subscription fee of £12 per month. Headquartered in London, the firm was founded in 2016 and employs 49 people, according to LinkedIn.
