Verdane Capital Partners has acquired a portfolio of eight companies from UK-based Eden Ventures.
The firm drew equity from Verdane Capital X, which closed on SEK 6bn in January 2019. It targets companies that record revenues of SEK 50-500m, and acquires majority and minority stakes either by investing in them directly or through portfolio acquisitions.
This is the fund's first portfolio investment in the UK.
Eden Ventures held a first close for its second-generation fund in 2007 on £77.5m. Brightpearl is part of the portfolio, according to Unquote Data. LPs in the fund include AlpInvest Partners, Capital Dynamics, the European Investment Fund, Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners and Unigestion. The average LP investment was in the region of £10m, according to Unquote Data.
It is unclear whether the LPs in the fund have retained a stake.
