Arbor's Steelite acquires Homer Laughlin food subsidiaries
Arbour Private Investment Company portfolio company Steelite International has acquired two Homer Laughlin China Company food-service businesses.
The two businesses are the food-service divisions of Homer Laughlin China Company and Hall China Company.
The companies will be known as The Fiesta Tableware Company. Steelite will take over the manufacture and sales of key product lines from the two divisions, though most distributors will remain in position.
The vendor put up the divisions for sale to be able to focus on the manufacture of its retail line of Fiesta dinnerware.
Arbor acquired Steelite from PNC Riverarch Capital drawing from Arbor Investments IV last December. The fund held a final close on $765m on July 2016.
Company
The Fiesta line of dinnerware, which encompasses both divisions, was founded in 1936. The Homer Laughlin China Company is based in Newell, West Virginia. The divisions offer dinnerware such as beverage services, crockery, buffet ware, ramekins and trays for the food-service and catering segments.
