
EQT Ventures leads $12m series-A for Peanut
EQT Ventures has led a $12m series-A funding round for Peanut, a social networking platform with a focus on fertility and parenting.
The firm drew equity from its EQT Ventures II fund, which closed on €660m in November 2019.
Index Ventures and Female Founders Fund also participated in the round.
Naza Metghalchi from EQT Ventures joins Peanut's majority-female board, alongside Hannah Seal from existing investor Index Ventures.
Since the outbreak of Covid-19, engagement on Peanut is up 30%, and there has been a 40% increase in content consumption, according to a statement.
Previous funding
Peanut secured an undisclosed funding co-led by Sweet Capital Investment and Female Founders Fund in 2017. As a part of the funding, it also received cash from Greycroft and Sound Ventures, the venture capital firm founded by Ashton Kutcher.
In 2019, Peanut secured a $5m funding round led by Index Ventures.
