Axa Venture-backed Cognism acquires Mailtastic
Cognism, a portfolio company of Axa Venture Partners and PeakSpan Capital, has acquired email marketing company Mailtastic.
The deal valued the company at €1-9m.
Cognism made the acquisition to develop its GDPR-compliant prospecting software.
Mailtastic will continue to be led by the three co-founders: Tao Bauer, Peer Wierzbitzki and Andreas Schröder.
As well as the acquisition of Mailtastic's existing Mainz office, Cognism is opening a new site in Manchester, following Cognism's recent expansion to New York and increased headcount in Macedonia, Croatia and its London headquarters.
In March 2020, Cognism raised $12m in a funding round led by Axa Venture, following a $10m round raised with PeakSpan in July 2019.
