
IQ Capital et al. in £5.8m series-A for AccelerComm
IQ Capital has led a £5.8m series-A funding round for wireless communications optimiser AccelerComm.
The firm is currently investing from its third-generation fund, which held a final close on $175m in July 2019. It focuses on seed and series-A investments and has a limit of £10m on its equity tickets with an expected holding period of between five and eight years.
Existing investors Bloc Ventures and listed technology investor IP Group also participated in the round.
The funding will go towards expanding the current team, driving US and global expansion, and continuing to develop its technology.

IP Group led a seed round for the company in 2016.
IP Group and Bloc Ventures co-led a £2.5m funding round for the company in February 2019.

AccelerComm's channel coding IP is used to correct transmission errors in mobile, small cell and satellite communications caused by noise, interference and poor signal strength. Founded by Professor Rob Maunder at the University of Southampton in 2016, its product suite includes a complete channel coding IP product that delivers reduced latency and power consumption for components of a 5G system.
