
Lightspeed leads $20m Wintermute series-B
Lightspeed has led a $20m series-B funding round for liquidity provider Wintermute Trading.
Other investors in the round included Pantera Capital, Sino Global Capital, Kenetic Capital, Rockaway Blockchain Fund, Hack VC, DeFi Alliance and Avon Ventures, a venture capital fund affiliated with FMR, Fidelity Investments' parent company. All the company's existing investors, including Blockchain.com Ventures, also participated.
Jeremy Liew, partner at Lightspeed, will join Wintermute's board of directors.
Wintermute is currently piloting its own request-for-quote platform with beta counterparties and is planning to launch it for institutional players within the first quarter, as well as to open its first international office in Singapore.
Previous funding
Blockchain.com Ventures led a funding round for the company in January 2020.
Lightspeed led the company's series-A in June 2020.
