Advent, Index and e.ventures back farfetch
Advent Venture Partners, Index Ventures and e.ventures have reinvested in farfetch, a UK-based e-commerce marketplace for independent fashion boutiques, in a $20m round led by CondУЉ Nast.
Advent already backed the company with $4.5m in 2010 and was joined by Index and e.ventures in a $18m round in 2012. All three funding rounds were aimed at expanding farfetch and tapping into new global markets.
Company
Launched in London in 2008, farfetch has since branched out in 140 countries, attracting more than 150,000 customers. The business is an online retailer of luxury brands from independent fashion boutiques. It has further offices in Portugal, Los Angeles and Brazil.
The company's website gets 4.3 million visits per month and has yearly sales of $129m with a growth rate of 145%. Around 65% of the business's sales come from markets outside the UK and US.
