LDC backs £20m round for The Training Room
LDC has backed The Training Room (TTR), a UK-based provider of vocational training courses for gym instructors, in a £20m funding round alongside the company’s CEO.
The GP invested in the company alongside its CEO and founder, Jonathan Davies. The deal was originated when the founder of Reading-based Spectrum Corporate Finance, Clive Hatchard, introduced TTR to the GP.
The capital injection will allow TTR to expand its product base by offering new training areas for its vocational programmes, as well as enable the company to begin entering new, international markets.
The transaction marks LDC's 15th investment this year. The firm has invested a total of £250m in new funding so far in 2013, with a further £28m in acquisition finance for its portfolio companies.
