
Phoenix-backed edif group acquires NDE
Phoenix Equity Partners has injected £12m to complete the acquisition of NDE Global Technical Services for its portfolio company edif group.
Edif acquired NDE together with all its subsidiaries from private owners. Following the investment NDE's founding shareholders and management team will become shareholders in edif group.
The acquisition of NDE is part of edif's growth plan and will expand the group's testing, inspection, certification and consultancy service.
In June 2011, Phoenix backed London-based advertising agency Karmarama.
Company
Edif is the holding company for specialist engineering consulting business ERA. Leatherhead-based ERA focuses on industrial markets and provides condition assessment, materials design and testing, forensic engineering, safety assessments and failure investigation services. The company was founded in 1920.
NDE operates offices across Europe, the Asia Pacific region and the US. The company employs 50 staff and will add a range of additional services and geographic capabilities to edif's portfolio.
