Mobeus finances ATG Media's acquisition of BidSpotter
Mobeus has financed its portfolio company ATG Media's bolt-on of US-based online auctions business BidSpotter for £4.5m.
ATG Media's acquisition of BidSpotter will augment its current auction platforms, the-saleroom.com and i-bidder.com, and will broaden the company's spectrum to include general auctions as well as live and timed art and antiques auctions. ATG already managed BidSpotter's UK operations for three years prior to the deal.
Mobeus invested in the MBO of online auction portal provider ATG in October 2008, providing £4.5m of equity funding. By 2012, the group had held 4,500 live and timed auctions and sold more than £115m of goods online. ATG was launched in 1971 and is based in London.
