BGF injects £4.5m into Bulldog Hotel Group
The Business Growth Fund (BGF) has invested ТЃ4.5m in Bulldog Hotel Group, the operator of several inns across the UK.
The fresh capital will enable Bulldog to acquire further properties, as the company sets out on a £20m expansion plan across the country. The group is looking to double the number of properties it operates within the next four years.
BGF has been investing steadily so far this year, matching an equally active end of 2014. The group inked four deals in March, matching the monthly performance seen in both January and December. February may have been quieter, but BGF still deployed capital across two transactions.
Company
Founded in 1996, Bulldog Hotel Group acquires former coaching inns with a view to renovate and operate them as hotels. It currently operates venues in Yorkshire, Leicester, Lincolnshire, Northampton, Gloucestershire and County Durham.
Based in Boston, the company generates a £10m annual turnover.
People
Mark Freer and James Syrotiuk led the deal for BGF.
