MMC Ventures et al. invest £1m in Breathing Buildings
MMC Ventures, the Berti Green Accelerator programme and Adapt Low Carbon Group have invested ТЃ1m in British ventilation specialist Breathing Buildings.
The new capital will support the company in its efforts to expand in the US market.
MMC first partnered with Breathing Buildings in July 2009.
Company
Breathing Buildings is a Cambridge based ventilation company dedicated to the reduction of energy consumption in households. The company was spun-out of Cambridge University in 2006. Its prime product, the e-stack system, provides low energy ventilation by profiting from mixing ventilation during colder months and upward displacement ventilation during warmer months.
People
Bruce Macfarlane, managing partner, led the investment for MMC Ventures. John French led the investment of Adapt Low Carbon Group, which is affiliated with the University of East Anglia. Shain Fitzgerald is managing director of Breathing Buildings.
