Highland and MMC back $20m NewVoiceMedia round
Highland Capital Partners and MMC Ventures have taken part in a $20m series-B round of funding for NewVoiceMedia.
The investors joined existing shareholders Notion Capital and Eden Ventures, both of which reinvested.
NewVoiceMedia will use the fresh funding to drive its international expansion, with increased sales presence in North America, but will also invest in ongoing product development.
MMC was introduced to the company through its existing portfolio companies, some of which use NewVoiceMedia's services.
Previous funding
NewVoiceMedia previously received £6.5m in two separate investments from both Notion Capital and Eden Ventures in May 2010 and July 2011. The firm has seen substantial growth since these investments were made.
Company
Basingstoke-based NewVoiceMedia provides cloud-based call-centre services, used to supplement existing in-house call-centre services or to assist firms transitioning to a cloud solution. The service offers call centres at a low cost and without the need for expensive on-premises hardware.
Founded in 2000, the company currently employs 85 staff and expects this to grow between 30-50% in the coming year. Revenues for the current financial year are expected to hit around $10m and are forecast to double next year.
People
Highland Capital partner Laurence Garrett worked on the deal and will join the board. Rory Stirling worked on the deal on behalf of MMC. Jonathan Gale is the CEO of NewVoiceMedia while Tim Pickard is CMO.
