Sovereign’s Eden acquires Essential Futures
UK buy-and-build specialist Sovereign Capital has backed the acquisition of Essential Futures by portfolio company Eden.
The deal is in line with Sovereign's investment strategy for Eden; to expand the company's geographic footprint.
Previous funding
Sovereign invested in the management buyout of Eden in September 2010. More recently, Sovereign supported the company's acquisition of Lincoln-based Housing & Support Solutions (HASS).
In January this year, Eden opened Brentwood Hospital, which includes six self-contained apartments.

Established in 1999, Essential Futures provides domiciliary care and support for adults with disabilities and support needs. The company also offers day services, including self-help skills and occupational therapy.
Eden, founded in 1994, is a supported living provider for adults with learning disabilities. When first acquired, its main geographical focus was Newark, with further offices in Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire.
