
Finance Wales injects £1.4m into Imspex Diagnostics
Finance Wales and the Angel CoFund have invested £1.4m in Welsh analytical chemistry company Imspex Diagnostics.
A number of private investors also participated in the funding round.
The fresh capital will be used to create a group administration and sales team, based in Abercynon.
Company
Imspex monitors quality control and quality assurance applications in the environment, food, drink, fragrance and clinical diagnostics markets.
In January 2013, Imspex acquired GAS, which develops and manufactures the group's analytical instrumentation based on ion mobility spectrometry. Its main products are siloxane and beer analysers.
Imspex was founded in 2011 as a spinout from the University of Glamorgan and is based in Abercynon.
