
Bridgepoint-backed Care UK makes acquisition
Bridgepoint-backed Care UK has acquired residential care provider Whitwood Care from family-owned Michael Wheatley Holdings.
The company will become part of Care UK's Community Services division. Bridgepoint took Care UK private in 2010 for £423m. The GP holds the majority of the business alongside executive management and Care UK's chairman.

Whitwood Care is based in Castleford and operates three residential care homes offering a total of 48 beds. The company specialises in providing care for adults with severe learning difficulties.
