
Index, Hoxton invest £2.75m in Deliveroo
Index Ventures has led a £2.75m series-A funding round for Deliveroo, a London-based food delivery platform, with participation from Hoxton Ventures.
Other investors in the round include JamJar Investments, onefinestay founder Greg Marsh and HouseTrip founder Arnaud Bertrand.
The fresh capital will be used by Deliveroo to further improve the logistics side of its operations and strengthen its platform.
The company also plans on using the capital to open its first international office later this year.

Founded in February 2013 and headquartered in London, Deliveroo operates a food delivery platform for high-street restaurant chains and independent restaurants.
Orders through Deliveroo are GPS-tracked and time-stamped at each stage; according to the company, average delivery time of orders is less than half an hour.
Restaurants represented on the Deliveroo platform include Carluccio's, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Goodlife Diner and Tommi's Burgers.

William Shu is the CEO of Deliveroo; he founded the company alongside Greg Orlowski. Index's Martin Mignot has joined the company's board of directors.
