
TCV et al. inject $50m into NewVoiceMedia
Technology Crossover Ventures (TCV) has led a $50m series-E funding round for NewVoiceMedia, a UK cloud communications service provider, alongside a group of the company’s existing investors.
TCV was joined in the round by existing backers Bessemer Venture Partners, Highland Capital Partners Europe, Eden Ventures, Notion Capital and US cloud computing business salesforce.com.
The fresh funding will be used to strengthen the business in North America, Asia Pacific and EMEA. The capital will also aid the company in its ongoing international expansion.
The round marks NewVoiceMedia's fifth bout of funding, according to unquote" data, and brings the total amount raised by the company in the last 18 months to $105m.
Previous funding
NewVoiceMedia's most recent round took place last September and saw Bessemer lead the $35m round with participation from Eden, Notion and Highland. The capital was earmarked for international growth.
In January 2013, NewVoiceMedia raised $20m. The round was led by MMC Ventures and Highland; it also saw Eden and Notion commit capital.
Prior to that, NewVoiceMedia received two joint investments from Notion and Eden in May 2010 and July 2011. The company's first bout of funding totalled £4m, with the second bringing in a further £2.5m.

Founded in 2000, NewVoiceMedia is headquartered in Basingstoke with European branches in Paris and Brussels, an Australian office in Sydney and two US bases in New York and San Francisco.
The company provides cloud-based call centre communication services, which integrate with salesforce.com to connect organisations with their customers.
The company claims to serve more than 13,000 agents across 40 countries. Clients include Citizens Advice Bureau, Brightpearl, Wowcher and Parcelforce.
Its workforce has doubled in the last year; at the time of its January 2013 funding round, NewVoiceMedia employed 85 staff.
People
Jonathan Gale is the CEO of NewVoiceMedia. The company's board of directors includes Bessemer partner Alex Ferrara, Eden investment manager and co-founder Mark Farmer, Notion partner Chris Tottman and Highland partner Laurence Garrett. TCV partner John Rosenberg has joined the board following the funding round.
