Ingenious Ventures backs Property Network

The private equity firm, a division of investment and advisory group Ingenious, invested through its Media Opportunities Fund.

Ingenious led the round, with follow-on and new capital commitments from Finance Yorkshire's Seedcorn and Equity funds respectively.

The firm hopes the fresh investment will see its number of registered users hit one million, and achieve 1.2 million registered properties in the next six months.

Previous funding
Property Network received an equity injection from Finance Yorkshire's Seedcorn fund in November 2012. The vehicle commits up to £780,000 in technology-based companies based in the region.

Company
Founded in 2011 and based in Leeds, Property Network (formerly Property Place) is a Facebook application that allows users to search and share details of a property for sale or rent. The application has more than 900,000 registered properties and profiles the properties of more than 8,000 estate agents.

The firm uses Facebook data to source the most appropriate property for a user's work and lifestyle. Suggested properties are then easily shared via social networks.
