
Kernel leads €1.7m round in Zeto
Kernel Capital has led a €1.7m investment in Zeto, a Cork-based technology company focused on the management of commercial refrigerators.
The round also saw participation from Business Venture Partners and Enterprise Ireland.
Kernel invested via the Bank of Ireland Kernel Capital Venture Funds.
Alongside the deal, Zeto announced it had secured a contract with Lidl, which will see its software deployed across the chain's 182 stores in Ireland.
According to the company's CEO, Stephen Slattery, speaking to unquote", Zeto plans to sign further contracts with large retailers throughout Europe, and is currently speaking to Lidl about supplying its services in other countries.
It will also look to boost its hardware platform, whereby Zeto sets up partnerships, known as channel partners, with large hardware companies operating in the refrigerator sector and provides its technology on a white label basis so that the partner can sell it as part of its wider product offering.

The company was founded in 2009, is based in Cork and employs 15 people.
