Kirkland & Ellis names Stuart Boyd partner
International law firm Kirkland & Ellis has appointed private equity lawyer Stuart Boyd as a partner in its corporate practice group.
Boyd will be based in the London office and will focus his practice on private equity, helping the firm further build out its European transactional offering to clients.
The specialist lawyer will be joining Kirkland from the London office of law firm Linklaters, where he advised private equity houses and financial sponsor clients on all forms of leveraged M&A and portfolio work, including restructuring advice.
The moves follow a raft of other Linklaters/Kirkland transfers in recent months. David Holdsworth and Tim Lowe joined Kirkland & Ellis's London office as partners, coming over from Linklaters, at the beginning of May. Earlier this year, Kirkland poached Linklaters' Nordic head of private equity, Roger Johnson.
Matthew Elliot, who was a partner at Linklaters for five years, joined Kirkland as corporate partner in the London office last year.
