3i promotes Salmon to partner
3i has promoted Tom Salmon to partner in its London office, in addition to making two new hires and promoting a further eight across its European teams.
Salmon joined the GP in 2004, leaving his role as executive at PwC after four years with the advisory firm. He recently led 3i's acquisition of UK-based bespoke travel company Audley Travel from Equistone and its sale of Spanish television production company Boomerang TV to Lagardere Active.
3i has also hired former Warburg Pincus vice-president Michael Specht as associate director in its Frankfurt office. Specht spent four years at Warburg Pincus, joining the firm from EY in 2011.
The appointments come as 3i announced a series of people moves across its various European operations. Other moves include: James Cox and Mark Bakker, who have been promoted to director in the London and Amsterdam teams; the promotion of Sophia Walwyn-James to associate director in its London office; the hiring of Rafik Alili from Lazard Frères as associate in its Paris office; and the promotions of Bastiaan Peer, Nicolas Urban, Sachin Jivanji and Severin Matten to senior associates.
