
BC Partners appoints Ismail as managing partner
BC Partners has appointed Alex Ismail, formerly president and CEO of Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions (ACS), as managing partner in its New York office.
In his new role at BC Partners, the private equity firm that has owned unquote" parent company Mergermarket Group since 2013, Ismail will work on deal origination and portfolio management across Europe and the US.
Ismail leaves his role as executive officer at Honeywell International and CEO of ACS after almost 20 years with the group. He was responsible for overseeing ACS's $7bn acquisitive growth strategy, spanning multiple industries and geographies, and oversaw a team of 65,000 employees.
Prior to joining the business he worked at AlliedSignal Aerospace, which was acquired by Honeywell in 1999.
His appointment by BC comes shortly after the GP appointed former Towerbrook managing director Axel Meyersiek as senior partner in its Frankfurt office and promoted Matthew Tooth to managing partner in its London office.
BC is currently raising its 10th fund, which has a target of €7bn, according to unquote" data.
The GP has also recently started making exits from its 2010-vintage €6.5bn ninth fund. Recent divestments and partial exits from the vehicle include Swedish cable TV operator Com Hem and French animal monitoring products business Allflex. However, the fund also recently invested in the acquisition of 22 Priory Group mental health facilities from US corporate vendor Acadia Healthcare.
