Eaton launches direct investment team
US placement agent Eaton Partners has launched a new team specifically dedicated to global direct investments and co-investments in private companies.
The firm will work alongside management teams, independent sponsors and general partners to raise capital for such investments. It will look to raise capital for investments of $50m and above.
Eaton said in a statement that institutional investors are increasingly seeking out direct investment opportunities, as opposed to investing specifically through traditional funds.
The placement agent said it has raised nearly $500m over the past six months for four investments in the financial services, power and energy sector.
Eaton has signalled its intention to diversify its service beyond its typical fund placement and advisory remit. The latest development comes four months after the firm launched a new team to raise capital for private credit strategies, including asset-backed and direct corporate lending, distressed debt and real estate credit.
