CVC's St John to step down after 19 years
CVC Capital Partners' investor-relations-focused partner Marc St John is to leave his role after 19 years with the firm.
A person with knowledge of the situation told unquote" that St John is to step down in March 2018 in order to focus on philanthropic work. He is currently chair of trustees at Teens and Toddlers, a charity that provides vocational training to young people who have struggled academically by giving them the responsibility of mentoring children in nurseries.
St John joined CVC in 1999, having spent 13 years at Citicorp. According to the CVC website, he has been involved in the raising of $70bn in equity capital during his time at the firm.
In June, CVC held a final close for its European and North American private equity fund, CVC Capital Partners VII, on its €15.5bn hard-cap, surpassing the €10.9bn raised by its 2013-vintage predecessor.
According to unquote" data, five US pension funds committed to the vehicle. The largest commitment was $200m from LA County Employees Retirement Association, with $100m each coming from New Jersey Division of Investment and Public Employees Retirement Association of New Mexico.
