BC Partners launches real estate arm
Private equity firm BC Partners has launched BC Partners Real Estate, a new platform dedicated to real estate investments, led by new hire StУЉphane Theuriau.
[Editor's note: BC Partners is the majority owner of Acuris, the parent company of Unquote].
Theuriau joined BC earlier this month as a managing partner, with the goal to build and head the GP's new strategy. He has 25 years' experience in the pan-European real estate market, most recently joining investment company Altarea Codegim in 2009. He also launched Morgan Stanley's real estate investment business in France in 1998.
He will lead a new team that will pursue a pan-European opportunistic investment strategy covering all real estate sectors, making direct and indirect private equity real estate investments as well as controlling and minority investments, according to a statement.
The new platform adds a third prong to BC's activities, alongside private equity buyouts and opportunistic credit. On the PE side, the GP closed its BC European Capital X fund on €7bn earlier this year, while BC Partners Credit was launched in February 2017.
