3i promotes Crane to partner amid appointments wave
3i has promoted Jonathan Crane to partner, hired Rothschild's Rupert Howard as a director and made four additional senior promotions in its London and Frankfurt private equity teams.
The GP has also promoted George Archer to senior director and David Stephens to director in its London team, and Andreas Gold and Michael Specht to director in its Frankfurt team.
Crane leads 3i's UK activity in the industrials sector and is promoted from his role as director after eight years with the firm. Prior to joining the GP, he spent 11 years with Bain & Company.
Howard joins 3i from his role as director in the consumer, retail and leisure team at Rothschild, where he spent 13 years. He will be based in the firm's London office and will focus on the consumer sector.
Archer works on 3i's banking team, managing the firm's relationship with its financing institutions and advising portfolio companies on debt-related issues. He joined the GP in 2011 and has previously worked at Royal Bank of Scotland, Bank of America and Barclays Capital.
Andreas Gold, David Stephens and Michael Specht joined 3i in 2007, 2011 and 2015 respectively.
