Ohio pension to launch private markets co-investment programme
Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund is set to develop a co-investment programme, including private equity and potentially private debt opportunities.
The co-investment programme will potentially invest in European private equity, but details are still to be determined, a source told Unquote.
The $15.7bn pension fund is looking at opportunities in co-investments, as it can cut costs, provide greater control over the pace of investment, and also provide exposure in terms of geographical, industry and capital structure.
Investment consultant TorreyCove and the LP's staff have collaborated in order to create a workable process and structure for the pursuit of co-investment opportunities. However, there has been no timetable set yet for the initial co-investment opportunity.
The co-investments will be in addition to the current and future commitments to private equity and private debt investments.
The US pension fund has recently committed to TA XIII, Trident VIII, and Advent International GPE IX.
