Marlborough founder David Parker joins Axis Arbor
Debt advisory firm Axis Arbor Partners has appointed David Parker as managing partner, effective immediately.
Parker was previously a founding partner and managing partner at debt advisory firm Marlborough Partners, with more than 20 years of financing experience in debt advisory and capital markets. He will be based in London and the new role will see him reunite with Gurjit Bedi – before founding Axis Arbor in 2020, Bedi had been a managing partner at Marlborough for 10 years.
The Axis team also counts another Marlborough alumni among its team, Holly Bott, who joined as managing director at inception after four years at Marlborough.
Axis Arbor has already signed or completed 22 financings during 2021, totalling more than EUR 5.5bn in deal value, according to a statement. This includes advising on the debt financing for the recent Deliveroo IPO. Other deals include private credit deals for both Allocate Software and FNZ, as well as a US insurance carve-out. Axis Arbor has also executed around EUR 500m of private debt facilities for both Charles Taylor and the merger of Heilbron – Voogd & Voogd.
Around three quarters of the financings closed to date have been focused on tech-enabled and life sciences businesses. Sponsors with which the firm has worked include Aquiline, Aksiom, BD Capital, Bluewater Private Equity, Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec, Five Arrows, Generation IM, Hellman & Friedman, Lovell Minnick, OpenGate, SilverTree, TA Associates and Vitruvian Partners.
