
Alantra bolsters private debt team with new appointments
Mid-market investment bank Alantra has made a series of new hires to its private debt team including Alberto Pierotti and Jean-Philippe Lantrade as managing directors.
The appointments will support Alantra’s internationalization of the private debt team, according to a press release. In 2021, the area closed nine transactions and invested more than EUR 150m in its three investment strategies including real estate debt, corporate debt, and special opportunities.
Pierotti was previously managing director in the credit and special situations team at Seaport Global for one year. Prior to this, he was managing director in the credit and special situations team at Avenue Capital Group for almost 11 years, according to LinkedIn.
According to the press release, Pierotti will support the development of Alantra’s private debt business in Italy.
Lantrade joins the firm from Be-Spoke Capital, a direct lending platform based in Madrid, where he spent over five years as head of credit. His role included originating and funding family-owned mid-market companies across Spain, according to the press release. Prior to this, he was a director at JPL Private Equity Solutions for over four years. He started his career at BlueCrest Capital in the special situations and illiquid team, according to his LinkedIn.
Other appointments include Alfonso Sousa as director, who joins from Avenue Capital, and Carlos Pulido, who joins as an associate from Sherpa Capital.
