NETHERLANDS - 3i-backed VNU risks creditor take over
It is understood that 3i Group Plc is facing a possible creditor takeover at VNU Business Media Europe, the b2b publisher it acquired at the height of the buyout boom.
3i bought the publisher for EUR 320m in late 2006. The company is believed to be close to breaking its banking covenants. Negotiations with banks are continuing, but the private equity group will likely have to put fresh money into VNU or allow creditors to take it in a debt-for-equity swap.
