UK - 3i et al. invest further £5.1m into Metalysis
A consortium of existing investors, comprising 3i, Environmental Technologies Fund, Chord Capital, Seven Spires Investments and Cody Gate Ventures, has invested in excess of ТЃ5m into specialist metals and alloys producer Metalysis Ltd.
Metalysis was spun-out of Cambridge University as FCC Ltd in 2001, before re-branding in 2003. Since 2004, the business has raised £19 million in venture capital and a further £4 million in grants. It employs 43 people in a range of science and engineering, scale-up and commercial development operations.
