UK - Finance Wales further backs Outlook Expeditions
Government-backed investor Finance Wales has supported youth expedition company Outlook Expeditions with a £730,000 debt and equity investment.
The deal comprises the conversion of an existing £260,000 loan, as well as a new investment of £470,000. As part of the transaction, David Wood will become chairman of the company.
Outlook, which is based in Snowdonia, North Wales, provides youth in the UK with the opportunity to take educational expeditions around the world to promote environmental awareness. The company, which operates from more than 40 destinations worldwide, was founded in 2001.
The new capital will expand the company and allow it to increase its client base by building on its relationships with schools, teachers and youth leaders. The investment will also develop Outlook's launch of a travel training programme that is supported by an online carbon calculator.
