UK - Silver Lake-backed i2 acquires KCC
Intelligence and investigation management software provider i2, a portfolio company of Silver Lake Partners, has agreed to acquire Arizona-based Knowledge Computing Corporation (KCC).
The combined group will be known as i2 and Robert Griffin, currently CEO of KCC, will become chief executive of the merged entity.
i2 has recently launched Notebook 8, which is a part of a new analytical and visualisation software platform enabling law enforcement, government, military, intelligence and commercial organisations to deter and prevent criminal and terrorist threats.
KCC develops the crime-fighting software product COPLINK for law enforcement agencies nationwide. The new company will have 350 global employees and support 4,500 public and private sector clients in 149 countries.
The transaction is expected to align the two organisations' resources and further the development of innovative software that supports intelligence-led operations. i2 will continue to have offices in Cambridge, UK and in the US.
