Goldman Sachs considering private equity spin-off
Goldman Sachs officials are reportedly in discussions about the potential spin-off of a portion of their private equity business.
The discussions are taking place due to the implementation of the Volcker Rule last month, which recently saw Bank of America spin out its private equity arm.
According to the rule, firms like Goldman Sachs have five to seven years to spin-out their private equity divisions. According to Goldman, no decision is pending.
