UK - LTF et al. complete follow-on investment into Acrobot
A syndicate of investors including The London Technology Fund (LTF), Imperial Innovations and PUK Ventures, has completed a further investment in medical devices company Acrobot.
London-based Acrobot specialises in computer assisted orthopaedic surgical navigation. Its products are based on a patient's CT scan, and are designed to jelp surgeons plan operations and accurately place orthopaedic implants. The patient-specific software enables a 3D view of each patient's anatomy and the appropriate positioning of the implants, which can be seen prior to the surgical procedure. The company was founded in 1999 as a spin-out from Imperial Innovations Group.
The new funding will be used to drive forward the commercialisation of the company's technology.
The syndicate of investors first supported the company in June 2007, and have now invested over £3m to date.
