UK - NVM-backed CloserStill acquires two exhibition businesses
NVM Private Equity-backed events company CloserStill has acquired Pioneer Global Media and Principal Media for an undisclosed sum.
NVM invested £7m into CloserStill in the latter half of 2008 to fund a buy and build strategy that would see the creation of a consolidated exhibitions and events business.
Warwickshire-based Pioneer Global organises trade exhibitions within the healthcare market. The company holds the Pharmacy and Dentistry shows and has recently announced the launch of a new event, The London Vet Show. The new show has already contracted 70 exhibitors with another 80 expected to land before the show in November 2009.
Principal Media, which is based in Midhurst, West Sussex, is the organiser of trade show Learning Technologies, the B2B e-learning exhibition and conference. The most recent event attracted over 3,000 visitors and more than 400 conference delegates, up 14% from the previous year. The company has also launched a new event alongside Learning Technologies, Learning and Skills 2010, which will take place in January next year and is targeting the broader HR, Learning and Development market.
